New Year's Day

The first day of the Gregorian calendar year, and the most widely observed public holiday in the world — a day off in almost every country that uses the Gregorian calendar, regardless of religion. Several countries extend the break to 2 January, and some in East Asia keep both the Gregorian and a separate lunar new year.
Ramadan Feast Eve
The afternoon of the day before Eid al-Fitr, which follows the Hijri calendar.
A half-day holiday from the afternoon, letting people travel before the three-day feast begins.

Ramazan Bayramı, known in Turkey as the Sugar Feast for the sweets given to visiting children. Three days of statutory holiday marking the end of the Ramadan fast, and one of the two biggest travel periods of the year.

Kurban Bayramı marks the end of the Hajj and commemorates Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son. Four days of statutory holiday, the longest fixed break in the Turkish calendar, during which animals are sacrificed and the meat shared with relatives and the poor.
